Jah Wobble IotH Everything Is NothingJah Wobble has quite a musical history although it isn’t as widely chronicled or praised as it should be. Jah Wobbled is a bassist by profession. In the late ’70s, early ’80s, he made his name as the original bassist in Johnny Lydon’s PiL (Public Image, Ltd). He played for them on First Issue (1978), and Metal Box (1979). After a time, he left to pursue a solo career, which was a successful decision and pursuit. His height of fame came with the formation of his revolving Invaders Of The Heart band. With that band, the most important (arguably) is his Take Me To God, his satisfying collaborative set that features “The Sun Does Rise” with Delores O’Riordan of The Cranberries fame, and “Becoming More Like God” with Anelli Drecker of Bel Canto.

In addition to his infused Rock albums, he also has created a great collection of ambient albums that include Elevator Music (2004), and Fly (2003), among others. I could spend quite a bit of time talking about the magic of Jah Wobble and his magnificent contributions to my ears. And although he’s not going to be for everyone, you should still take a listen just to be sure.

On August 5, Jah Wobble will publicly release his newest album, Everything Is Nothing. The new album was completely – and enthusiastically – funded via Pledge Music. It’s reached (to date) 181% of goal. (I’m a huge fan of Pledge Music!) The new album is being listed as an Invaders Of The Heart set with a musical direction of Jazz and Afro Funk. Nothing is out of reach of Jah Wobble, who simply makes great albums. Everything Is Nothing will feature ten new tracks.

Everything Is Nothing will be made available on CD, DD, and vinyl LP. If you’d like to get in on the pledge-side, there are 31 copies of the signed CDs left, and available signed vinyl LPs.
