In a world that is defined by the BEST-known names in Rock – Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, as examples – there are those that have sold many albums but still seems to be lesser known. The Dave Clark Five fall into this category. DC5 tarted in the UK in 1958 but entered the whirlwind of Rock music in 1964 with their first top-ten single, “Glad All Over”. This began the flow of steady singles from the band that include the better known, “Catch Us If You Can” song. Overall, the band released 17 LPs between the Us and UK markets. The Dave Clark Five ended their run in 1970 due to a changing market and a lessening of popularity.
On October 23, The Dave Clark Five will be further remembered with a 5CD to be known as Glad All Over The World, Volume 1: The Hits & Albums 1964-1965. In these five CDs will be 56 tracks from this important period of time. The box will include a 24-page booklet to flesh out the new set. The albums included are the US-issued : Glad All Over (1964), The Dave Clark Five Return! – 1964, American Tour – 1964, Coast To Coast – 1964, Weekend In London – 1965).
