Jean-Michel Jarre, son of the famous film composer, Maurice Jarre, has enjoyed a lifetime of compositions that began with his extraordinary work, Deserted Palace in 1972. But it was his 1976 French-issued classic, Oxygène, that announced his music in a much bigger way. By 1977, the rest of the world was as entranced by Jean-Michel Jarre as the French had been. Oxygène contained the title track in 6 parts; the public made it possible to enjoy two of the tracks in edited form as singles (“Oxygène II”, and the more popular “Oxygène IV”, which hit number 4 in the Top10 UK chart during 1977). Jean-Michel Jarre was positioned as being a premier composer of electronic music entertainment. Over time, Jean-Michel Jarre has released more than 20 album, several that revisited the conceptual musical beauty of Oxygène in extension and in a new mastering process.
On November 20, Jean-Michel Jarre will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of this magnificent album with a new remaster that revitalizes the music. It will now be presented in a Blu-ray format that includes a new Atmos mix, a 5.1 Surround mix, a Binaural mix (for headphone use), and a new 192kHz/24-bit Stereo mix. In addition, the 50th Anniversary will be celebrated with two vinyl LP color presses, a Digital offering for streaming and download, and a CD version. There will be a celebratory 2026 remaster reissue of the original 7″ black vinyl UK-styled spindle single with “Oxygene IV” on the A-Side, and “Oxygene VI” on the B-Side.

The two vinyl presses will be an Industry Black LP, and a Limited Edition Blue LP.
