The world got to know the versatility and wide field of talent that was Frank Zappa back in the ’60s. His foray into the public arena of Rock was fueled with the issue of his Freak Out! debut (1966). And for the next decade, Frank Zappa (under various setups that include The Mothers of Invention), released over twenty albums, live and studio. In his 11th year, he issued Zoot Allures during the explosion of the Disco era, even providing a disco-related track in “Disco Boy”. Frank Zappa would go on to accentuate the following years and decades with 40 more albums, his last being The Yellow Shark (1993). Unfortunately for the world, Frank Zappa passed away from prostate cancer in 1993.
The Zappa Foundation will remember Frank Zappa and his classic Zoot Allures set with an expanded and remastered 50th Anniversary remembrance of the original album. In addition to the original album being remastered and being remixed for a Dolby Atmos presentation, 5.1 Surround. and two high-resolution Stereo remixes (192kHz/24-bit, 96kHz/24-bit). Plus, a whole selection of extra tracks and a live set will be included in the 5CD/BD Box. and what a party this set will be. (Zoot Allures as my favorite Zappa album!) This 5CD/BD and LPs sets will reissue on December 4.
The set will include the original album and three outtake bonus tracks on CD1, the unreleased Night Of The Iron Sausage set on CD2, CDs3-4 offer their full show at the Palais de Sports venue in Paris, France on March 8, 1976, and CD5 with 17 bonus tracks. The Blu-ray Audio disc will provide the original album mixed in Dolby Atmos in 48kHz/24-bit, mixed in 5.1 Surround Dolby TrueHD 5.1 in 48kHz/24-bit, and the previously mentioned two high resolution mixes of PCM Stereo.
This 50th Anniversary Edition of Zoot Allures will be remembered with the previously detailed 5CD/BD Box as well as a 3LP 180g-weight Black vinyl LP box, and a 2LP 180g-weight Black vinyl that provides the unreleased Night Of The Iron Sausage set (with alternate takes and old mixes).
