Metallica helped to launch the thrash metal genre beginning in the early ’80s. With ten studio sets over 30 years, along with a handful of live, collaboration, and collections, Metallica has a strong catalog. One of their live sets is the S&M show (with the San Francisco Symphony). Released in 1999, this show added an orchestral style to the music of Metallica. S&M was released and went on to sell well over ten million copies worldwide.
They revisited the concept some twenty years later to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the S&M show. It resulted in a one-off theatrical screening of S&M 2. Now, that show will be issued in a variety of packages that will include a massive 4LP/2CD/BD Deluxe Edition Box.
On August 28, watch for S&M 2 in multiple formats that will include a limited edition of 4LP color vinyl LPs/2CD/BD Deluxe Box as well as the previously mentioned 4LP/2CD/BD Box. S&M 2 will also be made available in 2CD/DVD sets as well as 2CD, DVD, BD (Blu-ray), and vinyl 4LP packages. The BD and DVD sets will contain the entire 2019 show. The music has been remixed and remastered. The BD will include 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, and Stereo. A 36-page book accompanies the 2CD packages. The Deluxe Box offers extras with five guitar picks, 24″ by 36″ poster, sheet music, and DDs. the vinyl are splatter and half and half colored. The book is 26 pages.
