Once there was a single Blue Öyster Cult – Original Album Classics series set on the calendar, but now there are two.  On August 27, there will be Original Album Classics , and Original Album Classics 2.  The first set, as previously reported, will contain CD copies of On Your Feet Or On Your Knees, Some Enchanted Evening, Cultosaurus Erectus, Fire Of Unknown Origin, and The Revolution Of Night.  The second set will contain Blue Öyster Cult, Tyranny And Mutation, Secret Treaties, Agents Of Fortune, and Mirrors.

As previously reported, the new Kings Of Leon album, Mechanical Bull, is scheduled for release in CD, LP, and a Deluxe Edition, on September 30.

Deutsche Grammophon have penciled in the reissue of Songs From The Labyrinth (2006) by Sting for October 22.

Candlelight Records have two vinyl LP reissues coming of Gary Numan titles.  They are Exile (1997), and Pure (2000).  These are planned for November 12.

Candlelight Records also have Second Coming (2013) by Stryper planned for LP release also on November 12.

Sony Masterworks have The Toast of Hollywood featuring Mario Lanza on the schedules for August 27.  This 2CD set is prepared in conjunction with Turner Movie Classics and will collect Lanza film songs (on the first CD), and songs heard on The Mario Lanza Show (for the second CD).

UMe have two Bing Crosby titles coming on September 24.  Those titles include Bing Sings The Johnny Mercer Songbook, and Le Bing: Song Hits of Paris.

Victory Records have Somewhere In The Between (2007) coming on vinyl LP from Streetlight Manifesto on September 13.

Analogue Productions have an SACD version of the Steppenwolf (1968) debut (with “Sookie Sookie”, “The Pusher”, and “Born To Be Wild”) arriving on September 10.  This SACD was remastered by Kevin Gray.

Believe it or not, I’m excited for the upcoming release of Take Me To The Land of Hell, the new album from Yoko Ono – Plastic Ono Band, which is pegged for release via Chimera Music on both CD and LP, both on September 17. I even love the intriguing cover art.

Razor & Tie, a label currently engaged in a Deluxe Edition reissue campaign for a number of revisited albums, will be releasing a Deluxe Edition of Who’s Zoomin’ Who?, the successful 1985 ‘gettin’ with the new sounds’ Aretha Frankin album that spawned two hits in “Freeway of Love”, as well as the title track, “Who’s Zoomin’ Who?”  Who’s Zoomin’ Who? is being scheduled for a September 24 reissue date.

Real Gone Music has announced the next Dick’s Picks Grateful Dead issue with Dick’s Picks Volume 21 – Richmond, VA 11/1/85 on the calendar for September 30.

Real Gone Music will give The Lords Of The New Church plenty to get excited about with reissues coming for The Lords Of The New Church (1982), and The Method To Our Madness (1984).  Both albums are slated for September 30.

Arc Music will release Nadur from Clannad on September 24.

And finally, Cleopatra Records have a 2CD Live Anthology coming for ’70s supergroup, Captain Beyond, on September 10.  The album is completely named Live Anthology – Official Bootleg.  This album is hand numbered and limited to just 1000 copies.  So, if you were/are a Captain Beyond fan (and if you’re not, I would suggest getting listens to Captain Beyond (1972), and Sufficiently Breathless (1973) before ignoring this), then now would be the time to pre-order this live set.
