The Flaming Lips, a band from a heartland base of Oklahoma City, began their tenure as one of Rock’s excellent bands in the Psychedelic mode in 1983. With 16 studio albums in release (Wayne, it’s been officially SIX years since American Head. We’re ready for the next!), and a handful of singles that include the well-known “Do You Realize?”, the band has consistently toured and remained an active part in the Rock scene when many have gone off to pasture. The band still has a strong spark. Their 2006 release, At War With The Mystics can now celebrate their 20th Anniversary.
On November 11, Rhino and Warner Bros will reissue At War With The Mystics in celebration of the album’s 20th Anniversary. Inside the 6CD Box will be the original album remastered, a collection of demos, Non-LP tracks, radio sessions, a CD of live tracks from the September 15, 2006 show at the OKC Zoo Amphitheatre in Oklahoma City, and a CD with The Flaming Lips previously unreleased show at their July 26, 2006 Hollywood Bowl appearance. The Box will round out with a poster, and a booklet. Much of the tracks have been previously unissued.
This 20th Anniversary remaster of At War With The Mystics will be reissued on the previously mentioned 6CD Box, Dd, and a 6LP Box.
