Billy Joel released his first album in 1971. The album, Cold Spring Harbor, gained some interest but it wasn’t until Piano Man (1973), that Billy Joel became a recognizable name. The debut Columbia album generated four singles, the best known being “Piano Man”. With well over 7 million copies sold worldwide, Billy Joel was on track to become a strong performer for the better part of the next 20 years. Every album released since Piano Man sold over 1 million copies, at the very least. The Stranger sold over 10 million in the US alone giving it the coveted Diamond designation. The album, Turnstiles, was released in 1976 making this year its 50th Anniversary. It produced 3 singles with the best known to be “Say Goodbye To Hollywood”.
On December 11, the 50th Anniversary of Turnstiles will be remembered with an expanded and remastered set that will comprise 4CDs filled with demos, album sessions, and 2 live sets, one from from The Bottom Line in New York City (June 10, 1976), and the other from two nights (December 5/6, 1976) at The Palmer Auditorium at Connecticut College. The Blu-ray (BD) will provide the original album remixed in Dolby Atmos, and the Billy Joel Tonight show along with rehearsal and production tracks.

This set will reissue as Turnstiles – 50th Anniversary and will be released in 4CD/BD box, and DD. a 40-page booklet is packed in.
