Hot Tuna BoxFor fans of the legendary spin-off band of Jefferson Airplane (that I thought was a superior band to JA), it’s nice to see that Hot Tuna still gets a deserved measure of respect.

Hot Tuna was formed by Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen as a respite from downtime with Jefferson Airplane. But the success of the band urged them forward to the tune of five studio albums (not counting those recorded after Hoppkorv (1976), but NOT discounting them either!), and their three live sets, including their debut self-titled album in 1970.

Currently available, there is a limited edition 9CD Box that contains the essential Hot Tuna issues through 1978’s Double Dose live set. All of the CDs are sleeved in Japanese-styled mini-LP cardboard papersleeve replicas. In addition, the Box will offer an exclusive bit of artwork on a 12″ by 24″ tour poster, and a 28-page LP-sized booklet with photos, new liner notes, memorabilia, and 12″ x 12″ original album art. The Box itself is an LP sized set.

The CD Vinyl Replica Collection will be limited to just 1000 numbered editions worldwide.
