Linda Ronstadt has had a remarkable career in Rock and Roll, if only for a short time. She began with a stint with Stone Poneys, and surfaced brighty with the band’s “Different Drum”. By 1969, she was in a solo career in Country music. In 1973, she left Capitol Records and signed with Asylum. From there, it was a rise that began with her 1974 Number One album buoyed by “You’re No Good”. That song broke her into mainstream radio. Afterwards, she would chart a series of successful albums, generating a large batch of hits, many of which arrived within a three year period.
Linda Ronstadt remained successful in several styles of pursued music throughout her long career. But if you ask anyone, it’s generally the nice batch of tracks that occurred between 1974 and 1978 that most will recount effortlessly.
On August 21, Elektra and Asylum will provide an in depth review of her music in a 2CD collection called Just One Look: The Very Best of Linda Ronstadt. This new set will feature 30 tracks, all newly remastered for this collection.
