  1. Something has changed. Either you are digging deeper than ever Matt or a lot more stuff is being released. It’s October. New release news usually dries up this time of year.
So did you pony up for the Hemispheres sacd or not? (mine is on the way)

    1. I seem to be getting plenty of sell-sheets from labels. But, you’re right…weird.

Haven’t ordered the Hemispheres SACD yet. Too many wonderful things out there right now.

  2. Matt, to clarify, that Ry Cooder box is just his studio albums and none of his soundtrack work, correct?

      1. Gotcha. Not that this box is anything to sneeze at. But it’d be awesome if there was a follow-up box of his soundtracks like Southern Comfort, The Long Riders, Paris Texas, Trespass, etc.

  3. I deal a lot with Brit and Euro mail orders, and they tell me the same thing: lots of releases coming and there doesn’t seem to be any let-up. The rumour is that the labels are pushing hard in defence of online downloading with lots of boxes, reissues, remasters, etc. By the way, as I am into Prog, this time of year is traditionally the time when releases reach their peak and NOT dry up. I’m sure you could do a weekly UK report Matt!

    1. I tend to get a few UK-based sell-sheets in my email, but it’s difficult for some reason to develop and cultivate overseas relationships no matter how hard I try. And I do try. And it takes digging. But I have to say, the UK release market is always the most exciting. I will attempt to do more UK reports.
