Echo & The Bunnymen formed in the late ’70s issuing Crocodiles as their debut on Indie label, Korova in 1980. The UK audiences fell in love with the band and their music sending two singles up the charts before even the album itself charted. By their second set, Heaven Up Here (1981), they were appropriately signed to the major label, Sire Records. Through 1987, Echo & The Bunnymen held the charts close. In that time spread, they released five best-selling albums before dropping the mantle and breaking up due to a tragic accident that claimed the life of the drummer (Pete de Freitas). (They have reformed and have released 13 albums in total, the last in 2018.
On October 24, Rhino Entertainment will reissue the first five Echo & The Bunnymen studio releases plus the band’s comp set, Songs To Learn And Sing (1985). The five being released will sport nothing more than the original tracks on the albums.
The six albums – Crocodiles (1980), Heaven Up Here (1981), Porcupine (1983), Ocean Rain (1984), Songs To Learn And Sing (1985), and Echo & The Bunnymen (1987) – will be reissued on CD and DD.
