Progressive Rock has taken on many masks throughout its course, and continues to do so. With YES taking world stage back in the late ’60s and early ’70s, a template of sorts unfairly emerged that had many bands trying to break in using it. One such band was Starcastle, which garnered much attention in the mid ’70s with the release of their eponymous debut on Epic Records (1976). Other notable bands include Rush, Marillion, and earlier Genesis. Another band known as Art In America arose in the early ’80s during the widespread change in music at the time, and caught interest with a popular MTV video and the fact that it was produced by Eddy Offord of YES and ELP fame. Lost to time and circumstances, the band left behind only a single album in 1983 (they had released a reformation album in 2018, just not in the same original period as the debut).

On September 19, Iconoclassic Records will reissue the 1983 self-titled set with a new remaster (by Vic Anesini, direct from Offord’s original tapes of the album). In addition to the new audio upgrade, two bonus never before released live performance tracks will be included.

In addition to this remaster of the band’s first album, Iconoclassic Records will also be issuing the band’s newest effort, their third, which will be titled Rise. the new album will feature nine brand new compositions. Even better, the entire original band are involved with the new album. Rise will be released on CD, DD, and vinyl LP. The 1983 Art In America reissue will be offered on CD and DD. you can hear the first single, “Running By” off Rise below.
