The Sisters of Mercy formed in 1980 just after the barrage of Post-Punk largely overtook the market for new music. The UK-based band issued their short run of albums, three to be exact, from their own Merciful Release label. To get themselves further out, they signed with WEA for greater UK and US distribution. While the band only had three strong studio release, fans enjoyed the wealth of singles that released from the band. Their first album was First and Last and Always. Issued in 1985, they followed up with two more from 1987 and 1990 respectively, By the arrival of their third (Vision Thing), they had the world interested in their music.
On July 4, The Sisters of Mercy celebrate the 40th Anniversary of their Elektra-distributed debut (US) with a new vinyl LP offering. The LP will be pressed onto Red and Black marble vinyl and housed in a box for excellent storage. There will also be a 4LP box being made available.
