With several sets for The Flaming Lips arriving soon, it’s no surprise to discover that a Greatest Hits (Vol 1, even!) is arriving as well. With a strong career allowing the band a rabid following since 1983 beginnings. With four albums on the Restless label, and the rest of their catalog titles firmly with Warner Brothers, including the popular Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (2003) with “Do You Realize?”, and their latest issue, Oczy Mlody (2017), with its charming “The Castle” song.
On June 1, Warner Brothers Records will honor The Flaming Lips with a 3CD “hits” collection that will contain deep album cuts, singles, B-sides, outtakes, rarities, and a few previously unreleased surprises. It’s being called Greatest Hits Vol.1 Deluxe Edition. In addition to this large collection, Warner Bros. will offer a stripped down version for an eleven track black vinyl LP. All songs on both the 52 track 3CD Deluxe Edition, and the vinyl LP will be newly remastered for these packages. There will be DD as well.
