Polish composer, ó has crafted several brilliant works including his moving Symphony No. He left an unfinished Symphony No. 4 at the time of his death in 2010. What is essential is that, if you’re a fan of classical works, especially the modern variety (often minimalist), then you already know that the music of Górecki is necessary.
On January 22, Nonesuch Records, a label that has successfully championed his music, will release a 7CD retrospective box complete with all of Górecki’s Nonesuch releases. The discs in this slip-cased box will be:
- Lerchenmusik
- Symphony No. 3
- String Quartets Nos, 1, 2, & 3
- Miserere
- Kleines Requeim für eine Polka
- Harpsichord Concerto
- Good Night
- Symphony No. 4
This 7CD Box – called Henryk Górecki: A Nonesuch Retrospective – will be added to with a 68-page bound book filled with great material, photos, etc. Each disc will be housed in cardboard sleeves.
