Mike Scott is a tireless individual. With the past success of The Waterboys, especially their ’80s stuff, there is little end to the material that can be brought out. Recently, the news was issued that there would be a UK Parlophone Records release of a 6CD Box featuring The Waterboys with a treasure trove of goodies.
The Box, being called Fisherman’s Box, will collect over 120 tracks from their Fisherman’s Blues sessions. The collection extends from 1986-1988 sessions period. The set will also release in a 7CD/1LP Box. This box, whichever way you want it, is aimed at collectors of tracks and completists who collect all of the remnants of sessions in whatever form they appear. The LP added in with the Deluxe Box is a remastered version of Fisherman’s Blues.
The Deluxe Edition will include a 32-page book, and three art prints. You can acquire a little more info including the massive track-list from the Super Deluxe Edition website.
Fisherman’s Box is due on October 14.
Is there any word if this is being released domestically in the USA?
It’s on Parlophone. Rhino and Parlophone have done some things statewide, so it is possible.
