Although a bit late, This post is for those that haven’t picked up on the reality that a new Neil Diamond album is apparent. I have to admit to not being a Rick Rubin fan (much like I’m not a David Fricke fan), but at this point, any new Neil Diamond is better than none, I guess. This new album being planned is not so new (almost 20 years old) but rather, represents the unused recordings from the 2007 Home Before Dark sessions, which was final product released in 2008.
Planned for May 8, this upcoming ND album is being titled Wild At Heart, and which will feature 10 tracks. This album will be home to an alternate version of “Forgotten”, the original song as a bonus track found on the Home Before Dark Deluxe Edition. the title track is currently in release and can be heard below.

Wild At Heart will be issued on CD, DD, 2CD (with an inclusion of 10 of ND‘s hits (my gripe is the inclusion of “September Morn” over the better “Longfellow Serenade”. Yeah, yeah…we all have our gripes), and 2 versions of 140g-weight vinyl that will include standard black vinyl, and the Limited Edition ‘Bronze Elegance’-colored vinyl.

Great to see a new ND album. I quite enjoyed Home After Dark.
I’m with you regarding Longfellow Serenade or even I’ve Been This Way Before from the same album.
We were just discussing ND a few days ago on a similar thread over at Super Deluxe Edition. His back catalogue has been sadly neglected. No deluxe editions of albums except Hot August Night. No remastering of individual studio albums except 24 years ago on the 3CD Play Me – The Complete Uni Recordings set. Only a bare minimum of unreleased recordings/demos on In My Lifetime & The 50th Anniversary box sets.
A real shame for such an iconic singer/songwriter. All we get is a plethora of re-hashed compilations.
I for one would love a remaster of his 1974 album, Serenade. Great string arrangements on that album.
After all, it’s the 60th Anniversary this year!!
Quite simply, a crime…and a dropped ball…over the cliff!
Oops! I mean it’s the 60th Anniversary of his 1st album release this year. (Not the 60th Anniversary of Serenade)
Wonderful to meet a fellow ND fan!
