Frank Zappa is one of Rock’s greatest oddities. Musically gifted, uproariously humorous and yet heavily on target in so many areas, Frank Zappa and his Mothers of Invention band gave the world a strong collection of music that has been resilient throughout the decades, and remains so. His beginnings started with his 1966 set, Freak Out!. From there, and some 60 plus albums later, Frank Zappa remains one of the qualitative entries in the realm of Rock.
On September 25, Zappa Records will present a 60th Anniversary (WHAT?!?!) Edition of that debut set, Freak Out!, With this new remastered edition, there will be a collection of interests that will include a 1966 pre-master mix, a 1966 Mono mix, live 1966 sets from the Fillmore in San Francisco, demos, outtakes, and reference mixes. So, a lot of uncover and enjoy. There will be a total of 105 tracks to get through. Additionally, a Blu-ray disc will be included that will deliver the original album and a bonus audio track in Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround, a hi-res Stereo mix at 192kHz/24-bit, and a PCM stereo mix at 96kHz/24.bit.
The 60th Anniversary Freak Out! Box will be offered in 5CD/BD Box, DD, 5LP Black vinyl Box, and a 2LP Multi-color vinyl package.
