The intensity of interest in the music of John Lennon coupled with the push by the estate to revitalize the music created by him has been resurgent and enormous. With that, the estate will now look to mine the impactful John Lennon combined set studio and live set, Some Time In New York City. Released in 1972, Some Time In New York City was not well-received during the time of its initial release. With four sides, the 2LP package presented ten new Lennon tracks (three penned by Yoko Ono), while two live sets created the space for the second LP. (One side featured two live performance tracks from the December15, 1969 UNICEF show with George Harrison at London’s Lyceum Ballroom, and the other side with four performance tracks from the June 6, 1971 show at NYC’s Fillmore East with Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention. A massive update of this set along with a treasure of bonus materials and extras was planned for 2022. This box will look at the live sets from the original album and add exponentially to it.

Now scheduled for October 10, the Box to be known as Power To The People, will contain 9CDs and 3Blu-ray discs, and will be packed with a 204-page book, 2 postcards, 2 sheets of stickers, a poster, and an envelope that includes two replica tickets from the show, a replica backstage pass, and a replica after show pass. This set will contain 31 liv performance tracks from the two One To One concert sets at Madison Square Garden in NYC on August 30 of 1972.

Also included are 92 bonus tracks that bring new mix versions of Some Time In New York City, alongside unreleased classic Rock covers. Live Jam is an expanded edition of 1972’s Live Jam with George Harrison, Klaus Voormann, Nicky Hopkins, Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton, and Keith Moon. A set referred to as Home Jam will offer 33 acoustic demos from the Lennon private collection. All in all, the box set will be extensive and definitive for collectors of Lennon works.

Power to the People will be offered as the above explained 9CD/3BD Box, 4LP Black Vinyl (One To One Concert – Afternoon (LP1/2) and Evening Shows (LP3/4)), 2LP Black Vinyl (best of choices from both sets), 2LP Transparent Green color vinyl), DD, 2CD (with Afternoon and Evening sets and 20-page booklet) and a single CD Edition (with best of selections from both sets and 20-page booklet).

Many of the tracks found on the Blu-ray discs will be represented in Hi-Resolution HD Stereo, Dolby Atmos, and 5.1 Surround.
