For myself, I didn’t jump on The Alan Parsons Project platform until their second album, I Robot. But with that album, I was hook, line, and sinker for the band and their output for much of their career. But it was I Robot that gave me the greatest chills, and the longest appreciation of a work from the band. Alan Parsons, off from a successful career as sound engineer having helmed classics like The Dark Side Of the Moon (Pink Floyd), Abbey Road (The Beatles), Let It Be (The Beatles), and others. After a chance meeting with Eric Woolfson, the pair hatched the idea of the band and moved forward. With I Robot (1977) and its buoyant hit, “I Wouldn’t Wanna Be Like You”, the band exploded and delivered 10 popular era studio sets, most which climbed the enviable peaks of million-sellers.
On October 17, I Robot will be reissued in a remastered and expanded edition that will please fans of the band. This reissue will add in four bonus tracks. The CD package will pack in a 12-page booklet with new notes and the printed lyrics for this release.

This set will be made available as a large Deluxe box that WILL add in a Dolby Atmos mix, a 96kHz/24-bit Stereo mix, and a 5.1 Surround mix. In addition to that, there WILL be LPs. In the Box, the 2LPs will be pressed at 45RPM at Half-Speed and on 180g-weigh black vinyl, with separately available LPs pressed on 180g-weight clear vinyl. The Box will pack in a hardbound book, prints, and more. The included Blu-ray will house the upgraded audio extras as well as a promo video of “I Wouldn’t Wanna Be Like You”, and an interview with Eric Woolfson.
This celebratory edition of I Robot will be released on CD, DD, Box set with 4CD, BD, and 2LP on black vinyl, and separately available LPs that will include I’m not sure about future availability of LP at the moment.
