YES is a war-torn but inspired band that has put out what are considered by many among the best albums in the history of Rock. Fragile, Close To The Edge, TFTO, Relayer, Going For the One, The YES Album, Tormato, (and yes, I have missed some others here) and many others to a total of 25 studio sets are the band’s best work over decades of changes and creativity. One of their albums is Magnification. This album was released in 2001 and is an arguable interest, especially when it was recorded without an active keyboardist in the fold. Magnification has 10 songs within, two that are ten-minute tracks, one of them a multi-part song. It was received differently from schools of fans but is overall accepted well.
On September 18, YES will reissue Magnification in a 25th Anniversary Edition that will be remastered. The set will offer the title in a Half-Speed Master 2LP set, and a cassette version. Oddly, there is no CD planned for this new edition, but perhaps that can change over the months. The 2LPs are pressed on 180g-weight black vinyl. This new 2LP set will feature a newly designed cover by the original artist (Bob Cesca) that is based on his original artwork for the album. The 2LPs will be presented in a gatefold jacket.
