In 1978, a young folkie by the name of Steve Forbert gave the impression that he could possibly go neck to neck with the likes of Springsteen and Dylan. His first album, released on Nemperor Records delivered a collection of excellent tracks that included “What Kinda Guy?” and “Big City Cat”. With all the right stuff in place, he continued to deliver bright songs on his next album, Jackrabbit Slim. that album gave fans the popular song, “Romeo’s Tune”. From there, Forbert kept his fans but slowly lost a building audience as New Wave crept further into the forefront of Pop music. Throughout his career, Steve Forbert has issued 20 albums, his last in 2022 with Moving Through America.

I’m a Steve Forbert fan but his new album got past me. It is now currently available. Three songs were previously released as fore-running singles, one of which can be heard below. With 10 new compositions, it’s nice to know, as Steve nears 70, that he can still put together compelling songs. The new album is called Daylight Savings Time.

Daylight Savings Time will be released via Blue Rose Music on CD, DD, and Limited Edition Green vinyl LP.
