Carly Simon became the world’s sweetheart with her “That’s The Way I’ve Always Heard It Should Be” single from her 1971 debut. That infatuation continued with “Anticipation” and “Legend In Your Own Time” from her 1971 2nd album (yes, they released them fast in those days). But it was her third set that gave her the dream title. That album is No Secrets. Issued in 1972, it contained the timeless “You’re So Vain”, and “The Right Thing To Do”. But in actuality, the entire album was revered with its ten compositional gems.
On November 1, Rhino will revisit this classic No Secrets set on BD-Audio with a new Dolby Atmos (TrueHD 7.1) mix, a DTS-HD MA 5.1 Surround mix, and a Hi-Resolution (DTS-HD MA) Stereo mix to complete this BD set.
The Flaming Lips took psychedelic music to an early new level back in the ’80s. But as they entered the New Millennium, their creativity took new eights with the release of their 10th album, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. Released in 2002, this album broke the band into the mainstream with their long appreciated “Do You Realize??” single (a song that my granddaughter loves passionately). The album has enjoyed a 20th Anniversary remaster in 2022 that resulted in a boxed set.
On November 1, Warner Music will reissue Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots on BD-Audio that will incorporate Dolby Atmos mixes, a 5.1 DTS-HD Surround Mix, a 2.0 DTS-HD Stereo Mix, and include 4 videos of singles from the album (“Do You Realize??”, “Are You A Hypnotist??”, “Fight Test”, “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Pt. 1”).
