When The Doobie Brothers arrived in 1971 by way of their self-titled debut Warner Bros album, little did they know that they’d enter in America’s consciousness with a string of hits and more than a few memorable albums. Their second album sold over a million copies in the US and gave us “Listen To The Music”, “Rockin’ Down The Highway”, and “Jesus Is Just Alright” as forever hits. They enjoyed a resurgence with the shuffle of a lineup adding in Michael McDonald for an ailing Tom Johnston. On July 10, Rhino will help The Doobie Brothers celebrate with a 2026 remaster of the album and delivery via 180g-weight Rhino Reserve package (and, I believe, a CD reissue featuring the same remaster will issue on the same date. Time will tell). The album is well loved and will have the best visibility the band can provide.
