Yes is a legendary band that helped to define the progressive genre with extremely complex songs and thematic albums. As a result, they are the first thought in an often discussed line of such bands. Their output had successfully transitioned into the ’80s where many bands from the ’60s and ’70s lost that footing (usually with a rude awakening that the times have indeed changed and that consumer tastes had drastically evolved). Yes still stands as the thesis for a realm of music that few bands tackled and even fewer bands were able to even hint at.
On April 24, Yes will explore the time frame from the new millennium – 2011 – when their brief flirtation with Benoit Benjamin as a vocalist was in bloom. The band recorded a collection of songs that did not make it to their Fly From Here album but were released as an EP in 2019 after the passing of Chris Squire. It represented that period of creativity, which were felt to be too good to let sit on a vault shelf uncared for. The 4 songs in the EP are essential for Yes fans. The aptly named set – From a Page – is now expanded for our pleasure. All the music on this set has been newly remastered.
From A Page will be reissued via Mercury Studios and expanded into two CDs filled with 15 tracks. The original four tracks are here and increased with the inclusion of demos and alternate versions of the songs. Also included are extra songs as well as a single mix of “To the Moment”. a 16-page booklet is packed in with photos, and some notes by Oliver Wakeman (one of the members of Yes during these recordings) as well as five art cards and a fold-out poster. This reissue will be released on 2CD, DD, and 2LP 180g-eight half-mastered black vinyl.
