David Byrne represents a lot of things to a lot of differently-minded people. But his debut with the inimitable Talking Heads helped set the stage for the post-punk movement from the late ’70s. Their tenure didn’t last as long as many of us would have liked. Nevertheless, the talents within the band went on to more things. David Byrne explored the depths of many different things within his forays into his remarkable solo and collaborative worlds. With over ten solo and collaborative sets that include My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts (1981, with Brian Eno), The Forest (1991), and not forgetting his soundtracks like The Catherine Wheel (1981).

On September 5, David Byrne will release his next album. It will be known as Who Is The Sky?, which will feature the expanse of 13 new Byrne compositions. It’s been since 2018 since American Utopia landed. A so g from the album is currently in release. “Everybody Laughs” can be heard below.

Who Is The Sky? will be issued on CD, DD, and three vinyl presses that include standard industry black, lemon yellow, and a Deluxe Limited Edition press of cantaloupe orange and strawberry pink split vinyl with a count of 4,000 copies worldwide that will be housed in a gatefold jacket with a lenticular cover. This Deluxe package is available exclusively through the David Byrne and the Matador Records websites.
