Pink Floyd To (FINALLY!) Reissue Animals In Coveted Remix Form

Anything that Pink Floyd has done has easily stood the test of time (yes, even the contentious The Final Cut album). To date, most of their offerings have been reissued in immersive sets and have satisfied the itch of Pink Floyd fans. Except for one highly anticipated one – Animals. Remixed in 2018, the new mix found it in a hellacious hiatus due to conflict. That now seems to be ending.

On October 7, Pink Floyd will (finally) reissue Animals with that 2018 remix. It will be especially revisited in a CD/LP/DVD/BD Box that will bring together the classic set that offers the “new” mix on CD, on the vinyl LP media, on DVD-Audio and on Blu-ray Audio with high resolution Stereo and 5.1 Surround mixes to form a cohesive listening party for anticipating fans. The original 1977 Animals mix will be retained on theis reissue as a bonus albeit in 2011 remastered form.

The Box will provide a “can’t wait to see it” 32-page booklet that offers more than the original had. This set will also reissue as a standalone CD, vinyl LP, BD-Audio, and DD. The CD, 180g-weight gatefold LP, and standalone BD will issue on September 16. As it turns out (thanks Gregg!), the SACD WILL be released on September 16 via Analogue Sounds (here).
