YouTube sensations, First Aid Kit, rose to popularity back in 2010 with the debut release of their first album, The Big Black And The Blue. I came aboard with the release of their second, The Lion’s Roar after which I’m forever a fan. The Lion’s Roar delivered the immensely popular “Emmylou” single. The world was theirs after that song. To date, they have four full length studio albums in release, their last being Ruins from 2018. While we await their next studio album, how about a live set that celebrates one of the world’s great lyricists and poets, Leonard Cohen?
On March 26, Columbia Records will release Who By Fire, a live tribute to Leonard Cohen. The album will feature First Aid Kit interpretations of classic LC songs sung with others. This album is recorded from their 2017 tribute set at the The Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm. The two sisters, Johanna and Klara Söderberg, were joined by Nina Zanjani, Maia Hansson-Bergqvist, Loney Dear, Frida Hyvönen, Jesper Lindell, Maja Francis, and Annika Norlin.
Who By Fire will be released on CD (with fold out poster booklet), DD (WAV format), and a limited edition 2LP opaque blue vinyl pressing. The 2LP set will be housed in a gatefold jacket and will include an autographed double-sided poster.
