Leigh Nash has ruled the pop & rock charts with her band Sixpence None the Richer, but the gentle twang in her cherubic voice always hinted that she held country music in her heart. A decade into her solo career, she finally released that full-on country (and western—she’s got both kinds) album with 2015’s superb The State I’m In.

Now, Nash is recording the follow-up. As she did with The State I’m In, Nash is partnering with PledgeMusic and her fans to finance the recording of this as-yet-untitled new project. The campaign promo video reveals that the album will include both original compositions and cover songs, of which Nash has a fan-generated list. This is excellent news, as Nash is a consummate interpreter of song. Indeed, she ranks with Johnny Cash and U2 as artists who have frequently & unfailingly produced cover versions surpassing the original recordings.

Pledge tiers include the standard CD, digital download, and vinyl options, as well as vinyl test pressings, Skype music lessons, and handwritten lyrics over a unique photography print.
