We mentioned a few weeks back that The Doobie Brothers were planning a new album to be called Walk This Road. I also mentioned that I would be back when the details came out. Well, they’re out and here are the details.

On June 6, Rhino Records will release the next album in this storied band’s catalogue. Walk This Road will feature ten new album tracks. Some of them are in collaboration with other notable artists, such as Mavis Staples, who guests on the title track, and Mick Fleetwood, Jake Shimabukuro, and Henry Kapono (vocals, who contribute to “Lahaina”.

What makes Walk This Road special is that it will feature notable members of the band like Michael McDonald, Patrick Simmons, Tom Johnston. and John McFee. This lineup recently concluded a long tour in 2024. “Lahaina” is in current release and is used as a vehicle for funds to help from the devastating fires in Maui. You can hear the track below.

Walk This Road will be released on CD, DD, and two versions of vinyl LP that will include the standard industry black vinyl pressing, as well as an exclusive limited edition Tiger’s Eye-color pressing (only available on the Doobie Brothers website. You can pre-order all versions here.
