Free Vinyl collection Box_editedFree, with Paul Rodgers, Paul “Koss” Kossoff, Andy Fraser, and Simon Kirke, were one of the great late ’60s/early ’70s Blues Rock band coming out of the UK. It’s actually amazing the pedigree of musicianship that extended from this band. Paul Rodgers eventually went on to Bad Company, and later on, The firm (with Jimmy Page). Paul Kossoff went on to form Back Street Crawler (shortened to Crawler after his unfortunate death). Simon Kirke joined Paul Rodgers for the great Bad Company ride, and Andy Fraser went on to Sharks before his death in 2015.

Their biggest claim to fame was “All Right Now”, although a load of fans followed them throughout despite the popularity of the one song. In Free’s short career, the band produced six classic studio albums from 1969 through 1973 (Tons Of Sobs – 1969, Free – 1969, Fire And Water – 1970, Highway – 1970, Free At Last – 1972, Heartbreaker – 1973).  Additionally, there was the post-Free live set called Free Live!, issued in 1971.

This is certainly old news and has been reported months earlier. I’m throwing in to present a reminder that this is coming soon. On September 9, Universal will revisit the glories of this band on vinyl LP with the release of a 7LP Box, The Vinyl Collection. The beauty of this set are simply, new pressings, all in one place box, and an attractive and easily shelved box. All of the LPs mentioned above will be included in this box.

The vinyl LPs are 180g-weight. All of the albums have been newly remastered from the original tapes.

Who else besides me is looking forward to this collectible set?
