Matador Records have new music coming from The New Pornographers on August 26. The new album is being called Brill Bruisers, and will be issued on CD, DD, and vinyl LP.

Dogbear Records have Horizons coming from Kris Allen, slated for August 12.

Iconoclassic Records will reissue Power In The Music, the 1975 album from The Guess Who, with a release date of July 28.

429 Records/Savoy Records plan the new Loudon Wainwright III album, Haven’t Got the Blues (Yet), for release on September 9. In addition to this release, All Access Records will release a live set from a 1990 Austin TX radio broadcast featuring Loudon Wainwright III called Live At The Cactus Cafe. It’s set for August 12.

All Access Records will also deliver a live set featuring The Byrds called Straight for The Sun. That album of a 1971 college radio broadcast will be released on CD, and vinyl LP, scheduled for August 12.

Real Gone Music will release a 2CD retrospective featuring the songs of The Dream Academy (“Life In A Northern Town”) on July 29. The album will be known as The Morning Lasted All Day: A Retrospective.

Vanguard Records will release the new Marc Broussard album, A Life Worth Living, on vinyl LP, DD, and CD, planned for July 29.

Verve Records have the funky Pop music of Dirty Loops coming in their label debut, Loopified. Loopified is on the calendar for August 19.

Legacy Recordings have The Essential Kinks planned for July 29.

Culture Factory will reissue The Academy In Peril, the 1972 gem by John Cale. The LP-styled CD will be released on September 2.

Nightmare Records have heavy metal on the calendar with Conquer, the new album from Halcyon Way planned for August 19.

Lita Ford does Live & Deadly, an album of live music from her shows in 2000. The reissue will be released as a mini-LP styled CD with limited edition, hand numbered paper sleeves on August 5.

Mad in Germany Music will reissue the 1996 album from Ian Hunter, his The Artful Dodger classic. It’s on the calendar for August 12.

Nuclear Blast Records will release the bluesy self-titled Led Zeppelin-like rock effort by Blues Pills, on August 5. Go ahead and give ’em a listen. You might be appreciative,

If you remember Wreckless Eric from his Stiff Records days, then you might be very interested in his upcoming Fire Records’ release, Le Beat Group Electrique, scheduled for July 29.

Metal blade will release Songs From November by Neal Morse, on August 19.

Proper Music will release a ‘best of’ featuring the music of Paul Carrack called simply The Best Of Paul Carrack. It’s slated for release on September 9.

Finally, Rare Rockin’ Records have a collection of Neil Sedaka tunes recorded between 1958-1962 ready for Volume Two of In The Studio. It’s ready for July 29.

    Also very interested in that Heart live album. I think I saw them on that tour.

  2. I was disappointed to find that several more “2-disc” entries in Sony/BMG’s Essential Series are only available as digital downloads.
