That’s a new look for you, Sinéad!

Sinéad O’Connor is one of Rock’s interesting artists.  With an ability to stand up for what she believes in, and her strange ability to alternately piss people off because of it, she has nonetheless attracted many fans by her music.  Her most popular album, I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got, delivered “Nothing Compares 2 U”, a song that put her on the musical map. Since then, Sinéad O’Connor has released a somewhat steady stream of albums, with her last being How About I Be Me (And You Be You)? released in 2012.

On August 12, Nettwerk Records will ambitiously release the 10th album in Sinéad O’Connor’s musical career. The new album is being called I’m Not Bossy, I’m the Boss, and will deliver twelve new tracks. The pre-release single expected soon will be “Take Me To Church”, and will premiere via NPR Radio.

I’m Not Bossy, I’m the Boss will be released in the standard CD issue, and the expected Digital Download formats.  However, there will also be a Deluxe Edition of the new album that will offer up three bonus tracks, as well as a hardbound book. In addition to the two CD editions, and the download version, there will also be a vinyl LP set with a download rights card for the digital files. All of these formats will release simultaneously on August 15.

      1. Ya think? She’s never seemed like the type to worry about that, not that I’ve been following her through the years (other than when she makes the headlines for something outrageous). Plus I think her fanbase is pretty locked in as long as she has been around.
Me, I think it’s a statement about the image that is manufactured to sell more product. Perhaps we’ll find out once she starts giving interviews to promote the album.

        1. I think she, more than most, has a decent shot at a resurgence. I’ve never been a big fan, but I’ve enjoyed her stuff as it played on radio, etc.
