Legacy Recordings will release a 34-track collection featuring the music of Art Garfunkel as chosen by himself.  The songs contain songs from his days as part of Simon & Garfunkel, and from his solo periods.  The 2CD set called The Singer is on the calendar for August 28.

Witchwood Media will issue Of A Time from Strawbs on July 31.

Iconoclassics Records have #10 from The Guess Who on the calendar for July 24.

Roadrunner Records plan the release of Last of a Dyin’ Breed by Lynyrd Skynyrd in both a Special Edition, and a standard CD edition.  It is scheduled for August 21.

Time/Life has two video sets coming that include Radio City Christmas Spectacular, which will release on BD, while the label plans a DVD version of The Dean Martin Christmas Special.  Both sets are planned for September 4.

Geffen Records have LP, DD, and CD planned for the release of Mondo Sex Head by Rob Zombie, on the calendar for August 7.

Columbia and Legacy Recordings will re-release several Janis Joplin titles on vinyl LP on August 21.  Those will include Big Brother and The Holding Company, Cheap Thrills, and I Got Dem Ol’ Kosmic Blues Again, Mama.

Atlantic Records plan an EP from Kitten named Cut It Out with a release date of August 28.

Hip-O Records will release Mr B.B. King from the great B.B. King himself on October 2.

Wind-Up Records will release the new The Darkness album, Hot Cakes, on August 21.

Matador Records will release Sun by Cat Power on September 4 in both CD and LP forms.

RCA Records will release Away From The World by Dave Matthews Band on September 11 in both CD and Deluxe Edition set.

Wishfire Records will release As The Dark Against My Halo by The Cruxshadows on August 7.

The great Steve Vai will release Story of Light on August 14.

4AD Records will release Love This Giant from David Byrne & St Vincent on September 11 in both vinyl LP and CD.

Cleopatra Records have Blues On Fire coming from Pat Travers on July b31.

Rainman Records will release the new album by the great Alvin Lee on August 28.  The album is called Still On The Road To Freedom.

Currently, as an import title, Mark Knopfler will release Privateering on September 11.

Shout! Factory plan to release a 20th Anniversary set for Kiki by Los Lobos planning the reissue for August 21.

Eagle Rock Entertainment plan the re-release of Blues Don’t Change (2001) from Peter Green Splinter Group on July 24.

Mascot Records will release Nothin’ But Love from Robert Cray on August 28, planned for vinyl LP and CD.

  1. FYI, the Los Lobos album is Kiko.

    Not only (arguably) their best album, but one of the best damned albums of the ’90s too.
