Phil Manzanera is best known as the guitarist of Roxy Music. His guitar style is a unique one and it certainly contributes heavily to the sound signature of the classic band. But in his day, he has released ten solo sets, as well as doing an impressive blend of session work with some of the best known bands in Rock. He formed a band known as Quiet Sun, which has a story of its own in that it was Phil Manazanera‘s band before he joined Roxy Music. After their original split, and during a 1975 break, Phil Manzanera reformed Quiet Sun to record a new album. The album was called Mainstream. This year marks that album’s 51st anniversary, which will be celebrated with new mixes.
On September 11, Phil Manzanera will provide a new mix in celebration of the once heralded set buy Quiet Sun – Mainstream. Mainstream will be blessed with a new Atmos mix. a 5.1 Surround mix, and a newly remastered version of the original 1975 album. The elaborate offerings will include a 60-page book with both a CD and a BD. four bonus demo tracks are included. There are some bundled sets as well. Mainstream will be delivered on a CD/BD set with the 60-page book. The CD will include a newly remastered Stereo version of the original mix, while, as previously mentioned, the Blu-ray disc will include a 5.1 mix, an Atmos mix, and high resolution stereo remix as well as a newly remastered version of the original mix from original tapes.
