Cream, the supergroup that featured the guitars of Eric Clapton, the basswork of Jack Bruce, and the drums of Ginger Baker in a mix of near perfection. Together they made a little bit of history with four studio releases from 1966 to 1969 before their break-up in 1968 due to internal problems. Nevertheless, the band left those amazing albums that began with Fresh Cream (1966), filled the gap with Disraeli Gears (1967), and Wheels Of Fire (1968), and ended with Goodbye Cream in 1969.  Their best-selling effort was Wheels Of Fire, which delivered “White Room”. History goes from there as Eric Clapton embarked on a successful solo career that gave us 22 studio sets including my favorite, No Reason to Cry (1976 – 50 years, label folks!).

On June 12, Polydor Records (UMC) will present a 5CD Box of Wheels Of Fire to celebrate its almost 60 years of excellence. The set will give us a newly remastered Stereo edition of Wheels Of Fire. In addition, there will be newly remastered mono version and live performance tracks, Plus, there will be a CD of 15 rarities, nine previously unreleased. The box will be packed with a hardcover book with new notes and plenty of photos and complete credits. The discs will be housed in gatefold sleeves. the set will be housed in a slipcase with a silver laminated finish.

This new edition of Wheels Of Fire will be presented in a 5CD box, 3LP sets, DD for streaming and digital downloads, and an ‘all-in” 5CD/3LP package with a limited edition Art print. Listen to the newly remastered “White Room” below.
