Today, old TAP buddy, Matt Wardlaw, over at the great Ultimate Classic Rock (UCR) site has announced that Judas Priest will be revitalizing the audio and reissuing Sad Wings Of Destiny. This album is the band’s second album (their last with Gull Records before signing with Columbia Records). In 2024, Judas Priest reissued and upgraded the mix of Rocka Rolla (1974). Now, the 50th Anniversary of Sad Wings Of Destiny is upon us. It’s only right that that album get the same love and attention.

For now, there is no release date nor any pertinent information regarding the contents of this set other than Matt reports that the album will be newly remixed and newly remastered for this reissue. Exciter Records, who completed the remix/remaster for Rocka Rolla is involved and will release the upcoming set. You can keep an eye out over at Exciter Records at this link. As with Rocka Rolla, it is expected that the upcoming remix/remaster of Sad Wings of Destiny will be the album only reissue.
