Ian Dury helped to represent the growth of UK Pub music and the growing strength, relevance, and validity of Stiff Records. He released his defining album, New Boots And Panties!! back in 1977, following up that with his next set, Do It Yourself (1979)., and then Laughter in 1980. From there, his fame , although short-lived, fueled his steadily growing legacy. Today, he is known as a performer and a crafter of clever and entertaining songs from a long ago period. with a catalog of 11 albums, some as an early career member of Kilburn & The High Roads. Sadly, Ian Dury passed away in 2000 at the age of 57. He is best known for his anthemic “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll” from his New Boots and Panties!! album.
