John Prine left quit a mark with his Country/Folk/Rock entries that began in 1971 with the release of his Atlantic Records debut. With Atlantic, he released four studio albums before signing with Asylum where he dropped three more albums. Not long after that, he formed his own label – Oh Boy Records, where he released his last eleven albums. The challenge of getting chart play after leaving a major label influence left him struggling. But with Lost Dogs And Mixed Messages from 1995, Prine returned to the charts where he regained his fan base. By 2016, he was charting worldwide. John Prine passed away in 2020 at the age of 73.
On September 12, Oh Boy Records revisits one of Prine‘s classics, Lost Dogs + Mixed Messages. With this reissue, the label provides the original album with a celebratory 30th Anniversary expansion that will include five previously unreleased demos and alternate takes along with a never before heard outtake, “Hey Ah Nothin””. All tracks are newly remastered. The mentioned track can be heard below. The album is considered a Deluxe Edition. This album was nominated for a Grammy.

Lost Dogs + Mixed Messages will be released on CD, DD, and two versions of vinyl LP that include standard black vinyl, and a Limited Edition Blue and Green Split color LP, which will come housed in a custom pop-up jacket that doubles as a checkerboard.
