Sigur Rós, an Icelandic band that blends Rock with classical and ambient strains formed back in 1994 in Reykjavik. With their music, they drew interest from the Sugar Cubes, who signed them to their label. By the time Takk… came around in 2005, they had the interest of not only the whole of Iceland, but also the UK, where they were gaining ground. even the US showed an interest.
Takk…is a heady and hypnotic collection of 11 tracks that can keep your mind running for hours if you let it. The lyrics are mostly Icelandic, and the music intriguing enough to keep you focused.
On September 26, Krunk Records will reissue Takk… for its 20th Anniversary. Along with this reissue, Takk… will be newly remastered for the release. With the new 2025 remaster, it is sure to shine even brighter.
Takk… will be reissued on CD (album only), DD, and 3LP (with 3 B-sides and 2 previously unreleased tracks added) pressed on black vinyl. A special Limited Edition 2LP (black vinyl) and 10″ one side etched single will be offered. Another 3LP (black vinyl) set will be offered with a print of the album cover included.
