Not much need be said for Talking Heads, a band that made its mark in the mid-’70s through a meteoric period that finished in 1991, not quite a full 20 years but better than an average band’s life span. Throughout, they released 8 magnificent studio albums, and 2 live sets. One of those live sets is the much-loved Stop Making Sense. The soundtrack comes from a Jonathan Demme film of the same name and has become a time-honored classic. Recently, the film and the soundtrack underwent a restoration that ended in a 4k remaster and gifted with a Dolby Atmos mix.
On July 26, Rhino Entertainment will deliver Stop Making Sense in several forms that include a vinyl 2LP, and a 2CDD/BD Deluxe Edition that will contain a booklet with liner notes from the original band along with a set of photos to make the booklet unmissable. The BD-Audio will feature the album mixed in Dolby Atmos, a mix that Stephen Bjork of The Digital Bits states, “…the new Atmos mix puts it to shame (Dolby Digital). Yes, it’s that good.” (read here). The 2LP will provide a booklet as well.
This latest Deluxe Edition of Stop Making Sense will be issued on 2LP black vinyl, DD, and a 2CD/BD-Audio Deluxe set.
