Neil Young is one of Rock’s great elder artists. He has been a member of Buffalo Springfield, and Crosby, Stills & Nash (as CSN&Y). He has enjoyed a vibrant solo career for decades. And best, he still has things to say. His creativity is still mixed on a broadly smeared paint palette.
On December 8, Neil Young (still with Reprise Records) will release a collection of revisited NY tracks that have been newy re-recorded by the artist. He didn’t select classic tracks like “Old Man”, “Heart Of Gold”, “Harvest Moon”, “Like A Hurricane”, and other such tracks. Instead, he selected his own favorite songs from his catalogue. Included is “Burn”, a song originally recorded for Buffalo Springfield in 1966, and an older, more recent composition from 2021, “Don’t Forget Love”. Bonus to the set will be a previously unreleased song, “If You Got Love”. Neil is still full of surprises. The new album will be called Before And After (stylized as Before + After).
Before and After will be released on CD, DD, and two vinyl LP packages that include standard black vinyl, and a Limited Edition Clear vinyl. Both LP sets will include high resolution DD rights. Also planned is a Blu-ray Audio set with Dolby Atmos, Binaural, and Hi-Res 24-bit, 96kHz Stereo mixes.
