Grateful Dead has released many a classic album over their years of existence. Professionally active for 30 years, the band provided a collection of 22 releases including live sets like Europe ’72. This doesn’t take into account the hundreds of live recordings that have been released over the years in various ways and forms. Needless to say, their legacy as one of Rock’s earliest pioneers is legacy status. Wake Of The Flood is one of those classics that has now reached 50th Anniversary level.
On September 29, Grateful Dead will celebrate Wake Of The Flood with the reissue of the title in 2CD, DD, and two vinyl LP versions that include a collectible picture disc. The Anniversary editions will feature a brand new 2023 remaster for the reissue, and two demo tracks. Also planned will be a selection of six live recordings from their November 1, 1973 show at the McGaw Memorial Hall within Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
