Pink Floyd is one of Rock’s great bands. With a mix of Rock, progressive Rock, and synth to flesh out their unique sounds, both iterations of Pink Floyd (the Barrett and the Gilmour periods) drew fans close. It wasn’t until their breakthrough release of The Dark Side Of The Moon that Pink Floyd became a household name. Since, they have released mostly flawless albums with only The Final Cut to become a contentious set due to who is believed to have commandeered the sessions. One of the original components of Pink Floyd was Richard Wright, the band’s keyboardist. He recorded two solo outings with Wet Dream, which was released in 1978, being his first. (His second was Broken China issued in 1996.)
On July 28, a Steven Wilson remix of Wet Dream will be reissued via Rhino to include new cover artwork as well as a surround sound mix in DTS-HD Master Audio 96/24, and a Dolby Atmos mix. When originally released, Wet Dream was largely ignored, likely due in part to the changing musical tastes of the younger music listeners, who would usher in the ’80s.
Wet Dream will be released on CD, DD, Transparent and marbled Deep Blue Vinyl LP, and a BD-Audio set that will include archival videos, an 8-page booklet, and 4 collectible postcards in addition to the Dolby Atmos/DTS/and Hi Res Stereo mixes. There are no additional songs other than what has already appeared on the original release. More than half of the album are instrumental tracks.
