The holidays are brutal when it comes to a fair stream of upcoming releases. Of course, there is always a few, but when it comes to the November through January window, it’s usually silent. Nevertheless, there are a few, and for what it’s worth, here we go.
Time/Life Star Vista have listed a 2CD Various Artists collection, Classic Love Songs of the ’60s: Sealed With A Kiss for release on January 29. This 32-track set will feature music from Marvin Gaye, Brenda Lee, Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder, The Mamas and The Papas, and others.
The label will also release a 2CD Various Artists collection called Romancing The ’70s: Lovin’ You on the same date. This set will feature 30 songs including music from Dan Fogelberg, John Denver, Eric Carmen, Starland Vocal Band, and others.
Columbia and Legacy will compile and release a CD album collection of Billy Joel tracks called She’s Got A Way: Love Songs, which is on the calendar for January 22.
Shout! Factory will release The Very Best of The Pogues on January 22. Because I already know your interest level will be high, here is the track-listing for this collection:

Virgin Records will re-release A Walk Across The Rooftops (1984), and Hats (1989), both from The Blue Nile, and both to be available on January 22.
Nonesuch Records have a 2CD set coming from Pat Metheny called The Orchestion Project. It’s scheduled for January 29.
Carved Records plan the issue of Wild Child from Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, scheduling CD and LP for January 22.
While there may be a shortage of CD titles, there seems to be an increase in vinyl issues.
Hundred Handed will release The Afterman: Descension from Coheed and Cambria on vinyl on February 5.
UMe plan the vinyl LP reissues of Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (1988), and Somewhere In Time (1986), both from Iron Maiden, The calendar is marked for February 12 for these babies.
INgrooves will release vinyl of Small Fires from The Stone Foxes on February 12.
Modular Records will release vinyl LP for Young Dreams of their album, Between Places, on March 5.
Frontiers Records will release Eclipse by Journey on vinyl LP scheduling for January 22.
Arista and Legacy plan to release Playlist: The Very Best of The Box Tops on January 29.
