I’ve been away for a bit so apologies for the lack of posts. However, my plan to sunset MusicTAP is still on and so there is that. But in my absence, thee has been a fair amount of news of releases. With that, I’ve opted to do a TAPNote to cover as much and. With that…
The Yes boxsets released over the last few years had a Blu-ray with Atmos, 5.1 Surround, and high resolution mixes but they were never offered as standalones until now. For me, Yes announces a box set and I’m already pre-ordering. for for some, there’s a lot of excess but they want that BD. Here’s that chance. On July 31, Atlantic Group will offer the standalone BDs for The Yes Album, Close To The Edge, and for Fragile. (I guess Tales has to wait for the arrivals of Relayer and Going For the One boxes to get that option made available.)

Also planned for July 31 is the expanded Deluxe Edition of Greatest Hits by Fleetwood Mac that covers the Buckingham/Nicks era. What was originally 16 tracks has been expanded to 2CD containing 23 tracks which includes the addition of “Landslide”, “Oh Diane”, “The Chain”, “Think About Me”, “Seven Wonders”, “Never Going Back Again”, and a live version of “Silver Springs”. For CD, DD, and LP.

Parlophone and Rhino will reissue breakout CD and LP for several David Bowie late titles that will include Blackstar (2016), The Next Day (2013), Reality (2003), Heathen (2002), as well as A Reality Tour (2010). These will be presented in the latest remasters, most being from 2025.
Rhino will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Shake Some Action, the 1976 Sire Records release by The Flamin’ Groovies. The new Anniversary Deluxe set of this classic album will feature a collection of 1976 live tracks from The Roxy in Hollywood, CA, and a handful of alternate mixes. This set will reissue via Rhino Entertainment on CD and DD on July 17.

Mute Records will continue their legacy live Can titles with a new one – Live in Arles 1975. This set will be issued on CD and DD.

The Blu-Ray Audio disc from the recently released Genesis box set, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, will be released as a standalone for fans that just want the upgraded audio. This BD will be reissued by Atlantic Recordings on August 28.

Rhino Entertainment will celebrate the magic and coolness of The Tom Tom Club with 6CD, DD, and 7LP box sets. The 7LPs will be in various vinyl color presses. These will include Tom Tom Club (1981), Close To The Bone (1983), Boom Boom Chi Boom Boom (1988), Dark Sneak Love Action (1991), The Good The Bad and The Funky (2000), and Downtown Rockers (2012). And a bit more. These sets will be released on August 7 on the box set to be known as Let There Be Love.
