Grateful Dead helped to greatly solidify the Rock world with its psychedelic jam blend that went to great lengths in validation of the young Rock & Roll upstart. After 60 years of memories and sad departures, Grateful Dead stands tall -and with their own statue- in the pantheon of giants. In celebration of their 60 years of music and memories, Grateful Dead will issue a new ‘best of’ collection that goes into their four of their best known sets and housing 8 great tracks.
On June 13, Grateful Dead Productions will deliver their 9-track package of memories with Gratest Hits. Inside, there is one from their 1970 offering, Workingman’s Dead, four from 1970’s American Beauty, one from From The Mars Hotel (1974), and three more from three Arista sets (one from each – In the Dark (1987), Terrapin Station (1977) , and 1978’s Shakedown Street). The tracks on this set expand out to the most fans representing the successes of the albums that they come from.
Gratest Hits will be issued on CD, DD, and several vinyl presses that will include an exclusive dead.net Limited Edition (3000 copies) of a blue/black marble, and an Aqua-color LP. Other retailers will likely have exclusive color LEs as well.
