Linda Thompson, once married to Richard Thompson, has released work as both solo and as a part of the duo of Richard and Linda Thompson. She’s is best known with her collaboration with Richard on Shoot Out The Lights, issued previously in 1982. Her solo works include four albums, the first from 1985, and the last in 2013. The last album performed well in the UK market reaching number 76 on their chart.
On June 21, Linda Thompson will release her next album – Proxy Music. Using the famous Roxy Music cover from their 1972 debut, Linda has reproduced the cover with herself as the model. The new album will feature 13 new songs, one of which is currently out as a single lead in. The song is “Solitary Traveller”, and features her daughter, Kami Thompson, on vocals. With a medical condition (spasmodic dysphonia) that hampers her ability to sing, Linda has employed a collection of friends to do the vocals. These include not only Kami Thompson, but also Martha Wainwright, The Proclaimers, Rufus Wainwright, Eliza Carthy, her son – Teddy Thompson, and a few others.
Proxy Music will be released on CD, DD, and vinyl LP.
