The last album of original songs from The Rolling Stones were A Bigger Bang, which was released way back in 2005, some 18 years earlier. (This doesn’t count Blue & Lonesome, which was issued in 2016.) The rumors of studio time for a new album has been rampant for several years. The Stones still involve themselves heavily in touring to sold out audiences everywhere. It can easily be said that The Rolling Stones is Rock’s best known enduring legacy, perhaps even its best representative of Rock and Roll.
On October 20, The Rolling Stones will release their latest album (and probably their last), Hackney Diamonds. The new album will contain 12 new songs. A number of the songs will feature Charlie Watts before his passing, as well as Bill Wyman, making this a complete Stones set, one that we’re looking forward to.
Hackney Diamonds will be issued on CD, DD, and vinyl LPs that include standard black, and blue-color. There are several boxed bundles that include a hat and tee. Best is one bundle that include CD and BD. The Blu-ray Audio offers 96kHz/24-bit audio Stereo as well as a Dolby Atmos mix. A 64-page booklet is packed in with that box. The single (“Angry”, heard below) will be made available on CD single, 7″ red-vinyl, and a 10″ black vinyl. Both vinyl singles (7″ and 10″) have etching on the flip side.
Welcome back, boys!
